She has been a key player in setting Frieze's international course over the past 18 years. In 2014, she was appointed global director, succeeding fair founders Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover.
Next month, however, Victoria Siddall is leaving Frieze. The decision didn't come as much of a surprise. Frieze has gone through some changes since the pandemic began. The Art Newspaper writes, Frieze is to get a new structure. Each of the individual fairs will have an individual director. The position of Victoria Siddall, who was responsible for all fairs, will therefore not be filled.
Victoria Siddall will leave after the end of Frieze Los Angeles, which runs from February 17 to 20. It is not yet known what she will do afterward.
