Established in 1997, Luciana Brito Galeria has played a pivotal role in the consolidation of the Brazilian art market. The gallery was inaugurated with four important contemporary Brazilian artists, Ana Maria Tavares, Mônica Nador, Nelson Leirner, and Regina Silveira, and experienced rapid growth. The year 1999 was definitive in positioning the gallery as one of the most important in the country, with the addition of Rochelle Costi and Caio Reisewitz, as well as two historical representations: Geraldo de Barros and Waldemar Cordeiro.

In the early 2000s, the gallery began a process of greater internationalization, representing Argentinian artists Leandro Erlich and Liliana Porter, culminating later with Marina Abramovic, Allan McCollum, Alex Katz, and Anthony McCall. More recently, the gallery has also taken on the representation of the estates of Gaspar Gasparian, Thomaz Farkas, and Fernando Zarif. Luciana Brito Galeria continually seeks to highlight and encourage the newest generations of contemporary art, working to build and disseminate these artists in its program, such as Héctor Zamora, Tobias Putrih, Paula Garcia, Rafael Carneiro, and Pablo Lobato.

In 2015, Luciana Brito Galeria moved to the modernist Castor Delgado Perez residence on Av. Nove de Julho in São Paulo, a historical site designed by architect Rino Levi with a landscape project by Burle Marx and Rino Levi. After revitalizing the residence, the gallery initiated a project in which the modernist architectural heritage and urban issues integrate with contemporary visual production, seeking new ways to perceive and show art, and reviving the modernist precepts of integration between art and life.
