A Dynamic Platform for Emerging Artists
Zabludowicz Collection
The Zabludowicz Collection, a private art collection with a public ethos, is unique in the contemporary art world. Founded on a commitment to fostering a vibrant and sustainable ecology for art, the collection is dedicated to the conservation and collection of new work by artists from the earliest stages of their careers. What sets the Zabludowicz Collection apart from other galleries is its dedication to emerging artists, innovative residency program, and commitment to creating a dynamic platform for art.
The Zabludowicz Collection was inaugurated in 2007, clearly focusing on supporting early-career artists. The collection's London project space presents a varied program of self-initiated group and solo exhibitions, commissions, and residencies, drawing on works from the collection or new commissions. This commitment to nurturing emerging talent sets the Zabludowicz Collection apart from other galleries. The gallery is housed in a former Methodist chapel, adding a unique historical and architectural context to the contemporary art it showcases.
In 2010, the Zabludowicz Collection initiated an international residency program for invited artists on the island of Sarvisalo in Loviisa, Finland. The residency program offers an open-ended and discursive environment for art production. Artists and practitioners from many disciplines can spend up to a month researching and working on the island, sometimes producing works that remain in situ or using the time to develop future projects and collaborations. Specially commissioned sculptures and installations from the Collection are installed across three locations on the island. This innovative approach to fostering creativity and collaboration further distinguishes the Zabludowicz Collection.
The Zabludowicz Collection is more than just a gallery; it is a dynamic platform for art. The collection is continually growing, focusing on contemporary art and a commitment to supporting new work by artists from the earliest stages of their careers. The collection is also dedicated to conserving these works, ensuring their preservation for future generations.
The Zabludowicz Collection is also known for its philanthropic endeavors. The founders, Anita and Poju Zabludowicz, are benefactors of museums and international art projects and contribute to various charities supporting the arts, architecture, the environment, conservation, community, and education.
The Zabludowicz Collection stands out in the contemporary art world for its commitment to emerging artists, its innovative residency program, and its dynamic platform for art. With its unique approach to fostering creativity and collaboration, the Zabludowicz Collection continues to impact the art world significantly. Whether it is nurturing emerging talent, providing a unique environment for artistic exploration, or contributing to charitable causes, the Zabludowicz Collection is a testament to the transformative power of art.
