The Impact of Creativity: The Lasting Legacy

Mignoni

Mignoni, a New York-based art gallery, has been a significant player in the international art scene since its establishment in 2017. Founded by Fernando Mignoni, the gallery specializes in works by prominent European and American post-war artists with a focus on minimalism. Mignoni's expertise in the works of artists such as Donald Judd, Agnes Martin, Alexander Calder, Robert Mangold, Lucio Fontana, and Eduardo Chillida has positioned the gallery as a leading institution in the field of post-war minimalism.

The gallery advises institutions and private clients in acquiring works by a renowned group of artists, including Alexander Calder, Donald Judd, Rudolf Stingel, Ed Ruscha, John Chamberlain, Adolph Gottlieb, Lucio Fontana, and Eduardo Chillida, among others. This commitment to showcasing the evolution of art is evident in its wide-ranging exhibitions and events.

Mignoni presents two to three high-quality exhibitions each year. Past exhibitions include solo presentations by Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt, and Frank Stella and group shows featuring the work of Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, On Kawara, Robert Mangold, Kenneth Noland, Joel Shapiro, and Christopher Wilmarth. These exhibitions have played a significant role in highlighting the achievements of artists who have historically been marginalized in the mainstream art world due to both active and passive discrimination on the basis of race and gender.

Before founding the gallery, Fernando Mignoni had a decade-long stint at Christie’s London, where he served as Director of the Contemporary Art Department. He left in 2007 to join his family’s gallery, Galeria Elvira Gonzalez, Madrid. From 2007 to 2017, he ran the secondary market program both at the gallery and art fairs. He also organized shows by Donald Judd (2009), John Chamberlain (2010), Alexander Calder (2010), Dan Flavin/Donald Judd (2013), and Robert Mangold (2017).

Mignoni stands as a beacon of post-war minimalism in the global art scene. Its commitment to fostering artistic talent, promoting international artists, and nurturing a love for art among the public has made it a significant player in the global art scene. As it continues to evolve and expand, Mignoni remains dedicated to its mission of supporting and promoting the work of innovative and pioneering artists.
